Thanks for article. Great resource when i was shopping. Attached is video of my pair. Doing well, although i think my male has a bit of a swim bladder issue. Starts to bob a bit after heavy feeding, but here is he fine.

Congrats for the new fish, beautiful addition.
swimming bladder issues are very common with deep water genicanthus angels. it should heal and get better with time, especially if the fish is accepting food, not stressed and kept under excellent water quality

What's your opinion on Pygmy Cherub Angels (Centropyge argi)?

Centropyge argi is a nice little fish. as it is with most with all Centropyge they can be hit or miss regarding reef safety.

Watanabei, Bellus, Red Sea Lyretail, Japanese Masked I assume are the deep water ones?

While Lamarck’s and Spotbreast are shallow water species?

I love them but none of the sellers in my place carry them often, so I’ve opted for Yellow Pyramid Butterflies instead.

I think I have spawning activity from my Bellus pair. A lot of shimmying side by side and chasing, but not the normal get the hell out of here chasing. Usually about 1 hour or so before lights out.

Interested in getting a few of these for my new tank.

So only 1 male from the genicanthus in 1 tank, and then a number of females of different species sounds fine? More than 1 male of different species is a no go?
