Is there a generic timeline on about when to expect the ugly stages ??? Ex. Diatoms month 2 GHA month 6 Cyano month 3 ???? or is it really just tank and nutrient dependent ??

Ok thanks this is kinda what I was looking for I am about 6 weeks in and haven't seen even the slightest hint of algae, and I was wondering when it would rear its ugly head. But it seems like its gonna be just around the corner. Yay NOT!! I have 2 jars of Copepods in the tank to try and help avoid some of it maybe it helps maybe it doesn't we will see.first month-excellent, what u see on YouTube vids, its perfect
second month- ehhh, algae
third month- clean up crew time
fourth month- fuuuudgggeee there's algae everywhereeee
fifth month- wow, now I know why its called the ugly stage
sixth month- wow my tank is cool, or- MOOOOREEEE ALGAEEE
from there- my tank looks cool with a bit of algae, or, GOTTA GET THE ALGAE Out, NEED PERFECT TANK
from there, oooh, my tank always will have algae and the ugly stage just introduces everybody to what your tank will look like!!
IME/IMHO
14 months long?!?!?!?! or before it started ???Mine was about 14 months from the day I put water in the tank.
Mine didn't even really get going until month 6Ok thanks this is kinda what I was looking for I am about 6 weeks in and haven't seen even the slightest hint of algae, and I was wondering when it would rear its ugly head. Unfortunatly. But I should have included in my first reply that I didn't add fish for the first 6-7 months, which I'm sure makes a difference in the timeline. No reason for that besides life stuff getting in the way.14 months long?!?!?!?! or before it started ???
Ok well I know its coming and not much I can do about it... But I really do thank you for the information.Mine didn't even really get going until month 6
I have a couple saltwater mollies in my tank for now until it stabilizes and once it does I will be adding real saltwater fish !! and maybe a few corals havent really decided on which ones yet I know I want hammers and torches but I know my tank is too young for those just yet.Unfortunatly.
