Had to stop the vibrant a while ago as it was killing my torch and killed 2 trachys. I was dosing 2x a week and I think it was too much for them. I started again Saturday trying a single dose per week this time. I hope it doesn't affect anything at that dose but will keep a close eye on things this time.

A pic for your time, Day 1239 so 3 years 4 months or there abouts ;)

@GoVols Yes it was working and it also was making the aiptasia shrivel up as well. It's just the cost was too high.

I stopped and did a 50% water change but still lost the trachys. The torch came back ok.

@jsker from far away, yes it does, but don't get too close or you'll see my BA and Aip farm ;)

@jsker the nutrients are my problem. NO3 is quite high and figuring out exactly how I want to tackle the problem. I tried using chaeto in a fuge but that really didn't do it. Water changes will probably do it but I am a poor lazy reefer and can't afford an AWC ;) Was thinking about trying biopellets but just haven't had the time lately.

Do you run filter socks?

I am figuring out, that if I change my socks more often my nitrates are dropping pretty quick. The longer I let the socks sit between changes my nitrates will stay or inch higher.

The bio pellets are making a difference and the NitraPhos minus. I had to cut back. I pulled the GFO out months ago.

Let me check my numbers and I will report back :D

I don't use socks unless I want to clean the water column. Maybe I should start. MY PO4 is regulated by GFO and is usually under .1 and around .05 most times

Nitrates are a 39.7 which is down from un measurable, even with the Hanna High tester:rolleyes::D Mr. Lazy here;)
Phosphates .02 It has been two years since I have had my phosphates under control.

I make my filter socks, I toss them when they need to be replaced. The cost of each sock is .50.

Find someone with a sewing machine, a sale on craft felt at Joanne's fabric, 12 adult beverages, a foot ball game on TV and you can make about 180 socks with 9 yards of fabric.

Switching to a roller mat & installing an ats helped tremendously for me.. Way more than a refugium
Yes, I agree. I have read, that members have had great results with roller filters.

I have nothing against socks, I'm just lazy so they end up sitting longer than they should and thus are useless.

So this past week I was on vacation and sold the 13 head torch and gave him the huge GSP I had in the middle of the tank. When I grabbed the GSP, it completely let go of the rock it was originally attached to. I left that in the tank and took a cutting from the side of the GSP to put on the rock. So now I still have a GSP rock in the middle, just much much smaller ;)
