Hey Joel,

I'll take your frogspawn and if you have any freshwater plants that you think need pruning that would go in my 24 NC I would take some of those as well. Can you bring to the meeting?

Thanks!

Hi Olivia, frogspawn is yours, will bring to meeting.

Here's the FW stuff:

FISH
Beautiful male marbled koi angel, adult. Must see! Mean as hell to other angels. $15
School of 10+ red eye tetras, buck a pop, must take all
Reverse trio (2m:1f) of HUGE and beautiful Conga Tetras. $20

PLANTS
Rare dwarf needle-leaf java fern. Very thin leaves like narrow/needle leaf java fern but maxes out at 4-6" height! Some leaf tips branch like 'trident'. $10 for 3" of rhizome w/leaves or 9" for $20.
Echinodorus sp. 'Aflame'. about 12 nice purple/black leaves, still small (maybe 4" diameter) and grows epically slow with my light/non-co2 tank. $30?
Echinodorus parviflorous (NOT the 'tropica' var). great true dwarf sword plant with nice dark green leaves $3/ea. 7 available.
24" tall Nymphoides sp. 'taiwan' mother plant, tons of leaves and daughter plants attached. $15.
Red Tiger Lotus mother plant. $8
Nymphaea sp. Dwarf lotus with arrow-shaped pink leaves. Several small plants and large bulb. $5
Valisernia, medium kind, wider leaves than nana smaller than jungle... maybe italiana? i forget. 6 plants. $5.
Hygro. corymbosa (the long leaved var that looks like sugar cane... forget the name off the top of head). free with purchase of $20 or more.
Apon... I forget which, but it's not crispus. Bulb just sprung back to life after its annual dormancy period. free with purchase of $20 or more.

Hey Joel,

I would also love the:

Rare dwarf needle-leaf java fern. Very thin leaves like narrow/needle leaf java fern but maxes out at 4-6" height! Some leaf tips branch like 'trident'. $10 for 3" of rhizome w/leaves
3 please
Red Tiger Lotus mother plant. $8
Nymphaea sp. Dwarf lotus with arrow-shaped pink leaves. Several small plants and large bulb. $5
Valisernia, medium kind, wider leaves than nana smaller than jungle... maybe italiana? i forget. 2 plants please. $5.
Hygro. corymbosa (the long leaved var that looks like sugar cane... forget the name off the top of head). free with purchase of $20 or more.
Apon... I forget which, but it's not crispus. Bulb just sprung back to life after its annual dormancy period. free with purchase of $20 or more.

So $72 (if my math is right) plus $10 for the frogspawn!

Thanks Joel!!!

Olivia - what's your lighting? The E. sp. 'aflame' is harder to keep, but can be okay without co2 if the lighting is ok.
The Tiger lotus won't fit in a 24g, same for the Apon. The Val. and Hygrophila will if kept in the back and trimmed if needed.
Just trying to help... everything else should be good though.
My advice would be to go for more of the dwarf java fern (I can give you cedar DW if needed) and skip the ones I just mentioned.

Hey Joel,

I will definitely go by your judgement on what you think I can keep, I have 2 36 watt 6500 K bulbs on the nano cube. No CO2 here. Trying to keep a pretty low tech planted tank this time around. I don't mind trimming since that goes with regular tank maintenance. What do you think?

Olivia, I'd recommend: 2-3x portions of the dwarf needle-leaf java fern. $10/ea (Do you have drift wood? this plant must be attached to something, it can't be planted)
3x Echinodorus parviflorous (I'll throw in some extra and we'll call it $10)
Nymphaea sp. Dwarf lotus with arrow-shaped pink leaves. $5
All of the Valisernia for $5
I'll throw in some Hygro. corymbosa and a small Nymphoides 'taiwan' plant (just don't let it take over because it will crowd the surface and shade other plants).
That's 30-$40 depending on how much dwarf fern you want + the frogspawn.

What's your substrate?
