Frozen Cubes

Has anyone had any success with thawing and then refreezing frozen cubed fish food? I have nano fish (freshwater) and they need maybe a 1/5 of a cube and I would like to make it easier on myself and future sitters to feed. My plan is to thaw all of the cubes and then refreeze into a sheet and then I can just break off a tiny piece as needed (I rotate multiple foods including pellets and flakes.)

Is this a viable plan? Has anyone had any similar ideas/ any tips?

That's kinda how I make my frozen mix. I don't intentionally thaw the brine and mises, but it happens in the blender. I've seen no issues.

I do this with PE mysis. I buy the giant flats and break a big chunk off, thaw, then place in a smaller zip lock bags flatten it and refreeze. I've been doing that for several years. Many times I'll thaw enough for 2 days and just refrigerate it.

I've seen claims that once the food is thawed out it immediately starts to break down and loose its nutrition. No clue at what rate. I personally have never really worried about it. My frozen food usually thaws out on the way home in the 110 degree weather we are having. I got some Dr. Bassleer pellets about a year ago and my nano freshwater fish love it. I've gotten to where that is about all I feed them.

I’ve thawed and refrozen but not often since I’ll feed three tanks with one cube. That being said certain things, like brine and mysis do start to break down into mush whereas beef heart and bloodworms will hold up a bit better.
