Hello how is everyone doing today. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I just had a qustion about my frist tank size. I'm looking for recommendations on aquarium brands the only ones I really know is waterbox and red sea but I can't see paying almost 5k for the tank I want. Is there any recommendations for a good say 80-90 gal tanks. That won't be so hard on the wallet. Or any suggestions on a frist tank size and brand. Thank you

They say go as big as you can to save money in the long run! But depends on the space you have. For brands, not 100% sure in the US vs the UK where I am. I'm sure there will be plenty of people who can help

You could go custom built to whatever dimensions you want. Depending on who you used to build itI likely be cheaper aswell thsn redsea or waterbox. IMHO Redsea and waterbox aquariums are overpriced.
In regards to what size for a first tank, I don't think there is really an answer except to know that more water means less swings in parameters. So maybe the biggest you can afford in the space you want it in.

How good are you at DIY? If you are somewhat handy and have some tools, a 75g from Petco that you drill yourself, with a self built stand is hard to beat for the money. You could be all in for a complete system, with really nice equipment for half of what the big brands charge for just the tank and stand.
Next suggestion would be to pick up a good used setup
If you are set on going the new route for a complete setup, Innovative Marine has really nice options for tanks and stands. And they are often on sale.

For size in general, go as big as you can, but try to stick with a 3' or 4' long tank. Once you go bigger than that, it gets much more expensive for lighting, flow, and the rest of the equipment.

Just saw your username and had a light bulb go off. This ships from Cali.

Current USA will offer even more discount if you are close by since the shipping is cheaper. Message them on Etsy and tell them you’re in Nevada, and ask them what the best price they can offer this shipped

It’s been rumored…people close by get an extra 10% off but it depends on your address and their shipping cost.

I got a red sea 70 gallon as my first. Quickly realized I wanted a bigger tank and moved to a 125 gallon and then to a 300 recently. I say as big as you can go so you dont feel the need to upgrade! I bought my first tank new at full retail price. Wouldnt do that again. So many people on facebook selling set ups for a fraction of the cost as they leave the hobby. Look there! :) i found an amazing deal on a full set up for my 300 gallon.
