i got this nifty frag rack for being a supporting member, but obviously i don't need it. ;)

i'm giving this away for FREE to the first person who can pm me the answer to this question:

You have been given the task of transporting 3,000 apples 1,000 miles from Appleland to Bananaville. Your truck can carry 1,000 apples at a time. Every time you travel a mile towards Bananaville you must pay a tax of 1 apple but you pay nothing when going in the other direction (towards Appleland).

What is highest number of apples you can get to Bananaville?

no cheating!!!! :p:D

thanks for all those who participated. now here's the answer:

Answer: 833 apples.

Step one: First you want to make 3 trips of 1,000 apples 333 miles. You will be left with 2,001 apples and 667 miles to go.
Step two: Next you want to take 2 trips of 1,000 apples 500 miles. You will be left with 1,000 apples and 167 miles to go (you have to leave an apple behind).
Step three: Finally, you travel the last 167 miles with one load of 1,000 apples and are left with 833 apples in Bananaville.

That makes zero sense just saying. 3000 Apples have to go 1000Miles from A-B, you cant divide the mileage, its 1000miles each direction leaving no apples. By your explanation you are saying its 1000miles per 3 trips but that's not how its written.

The way the original riddle was written, the trip to Bananaville- " 1,000 miles from Appleland to Bananaville". Therefore, on that premise alone it is 1000 miles from Appleland to Bananaville, you will have no apples delivered. Just sayin'

it says the total distance is 1000 miles, but you don't have to travel the whole distance each time. you can travel in increments.

Hello,

In the sake of having fun we are people who buy live coral right. So why don’t you place all the apples on a fed ex plane and over night them. Make one trip and that’s all, since their are no toll taxes in the air. In this case you have all 3,000 apples that are still fresh, and overnight shipping is cheaper than any tax toll, specially commercial wise:). So roughly 375 pounds and shipping is 150

So since I’m at Albertsons lol 8 apples equals one pound so there is 3000 and or roughly equal to 375 pounds. FedEx ships up to 150, so would have to send two separate pallets. Which gives us 300 pounds, and in average not all apples are the same size. So 12 apples or small apples are in a pound and up to 6-8 for medium, and up to 4 for those massive ones. (We need more info on apples), but it’s faster and cheaper :)

Yeah but I don’t want to stay in the cargo bay with them I’d freeze lol. So that will be my free plane meal for the long flight :)

The answer is 0 ? 3000 apples 3 1000mile trip tax 1 apple per mile?

Total distance is 3000 miles as you don’t charge me for the drive back I only had 3000 to start I’m left with 0 no?

Lol

Kinda tricky but I’m right. You said the trip there is a thousand miles and you don’t charge me for the drive back.
Not that total trip is a 1000 miles...

one way is a 1000 miles based on itinerary and the charge is 1 apple per mile I only have 1000 apples per trip to bannaviille?

I don’t evan have anymore dang apples at 1 mile 1 apple no? [emoji519] that’s why you gave me Frag rack as a form of payment because I’m just a truck guy so I can’t profit from the apples anyway so you pay me in reefing equipment as per our contract and service agreement no?
