I just added a white tail bristletooth in yesterday. Came home today to see this wound(?) on my foxface I’ve close to 2 years. It also looks like my purple tang may have spread ich to him.

Is that what looks to be the case here? I’m no expert by any means. Can he recover? He is a pretty bulletproof fish, and eats like a cow. He is still eating.

Now Foxfaces can often look skinny (9/10 times they aren’t) but you shouldn’t be able to see the dent towards the caudal fin - are you feeding algae? And how often are you feeding?

Also, as for the ich I’ve added fish with ich but you shouldnt add tangs if you’ve got ich. They are no matter the genus incredibly susceptible to it. If you add any fish during a disease/parasite outbreak make it a cleaner wrasse, nothing else.

I found something similar on one of my Foxfaces and was told it was a flatworm which was not correct! Found out that it was a sting from my BTA! If you have anemones in your tank, that might be what it is from! It went away after a couple of days!
