I bought my wife a 32g biocube and it's a great budget option. The stock lights will grow coral no problem, the spectrum kindof sucks for color though. There are tons of options if you decide to upgrade lights down the road. I would probably stay away from the old 29s of you want to do upgrades later since most of them are for the 32. I paid $150 for a used stock biocube on FB marketplace and I feel like 150-200 is a fair price for a used one.

I currently am running an Oceanic 29 gallon. I would like to have more room for more fish though. I keep the front lid open to allow more evaporation to help cool things down. This may be in part caused by my upgrading the lights with 3 Fluval Marine 3.0 nano lights that I bought used off of eBay. If they had some UV I would be happier with them.

I took the back lid off so I had room for my Aquamaxx WS-1 skimmer. I'm not sure if their HOB 1.5 version was around when I bought it but that would be the one I would have gone with had I known it existed. I am quite happy with the WS-1's performance.
