Hey everyone,

1. Do you feed your Zoos and Palys?
I have seen some people post that they feed, others say they target
feed.
Do you feed? If so what type of food for what type of Zoo or Paly?

2. Do you use any type of suppliments like trace elements or trace minerals?

Thanks as always,
Steve

I feed my palys and PE's arctic pods every night. I use a turkey baster. I've tried feeding zoa's but they never eat what I offer. So I stopped trying.

I add magflake and dowflake every water change, I drip kalk, and I run zeo.

I feed my palys and PE type zoas. I have a formula one pellet that I cut up to feed my zoas/palys. My Nuclear Greens and Purple Deaths take to food, so I figure it can't hurt.

I also feed my PE type zoas with 1/4 of a pellet that I cut up. I use a long piece of rigid tubing to feed them. It allows me to drop the piece right in the oral disc.

The big question. Does it make a difference? I'm not sure, but I figure that my zoas/palys have enough light, so if I supplement with food then they will be happier. The flip side to this is in regards to feeding response. If a zoa/paly does not show an active feeding response then I will not feed them. Most small polyp zoas will not react to food so there is point in feeding them, IMO.

Yes, it takes a long time to feed my zoas/palys but it is so relaxing. I hope to shoot a few videos of zoas/palys feeding in the near future. It is very intersting watching how differnt types react to food.

mine catches cyclopeeze every one in awhile, but i don't feed them intentionally. some of my palys would catch mysis or brine shrimp if it floats pass them as well.

I feed cyclopeeze a couple times a week and then feed the fish a little heavier with flake, pellets, and a little mysis. But this doesn't do much for anything but palys and other larger zoanthids. I also use Korallin Amino-Life every couple days.

Funny it is the other way around in my tank LOL, what ever the corals don't get the fish get! Sometimes is a pain keeping the cleaner shrimp out of the Duncans and Dendros LOL.

I feed most of my LPS colonies Like the Acans a mix of what ever I feel like at the time.......
but I will try to list 'em for ya
Cyclopees Flake crushed up, powder and frozen. Also in the squirt bottle.
Omega ONE Flakes food crushed up
Brine shrimp every form freeze dryed, frozen, flake and live
Black Powder
Krill freeze dryed and frozen
Mysis frozen
Marine Bioplankton in a squirt bottle
Formula one and two frozen
Spectrum pellets

What ever few I feel like that day go in a cup and then soak in Cell CON for awhile then I add aquarium water to it and baste all the corals, palys and zoas?

OH water flow off also?
I use a Strontium, Iodine, Reef supplements, Kalk, CA. Reactor?

ONE of those things in the hobby that you do what works for ya, I don't think there is anything set in stone or recorded about best growth, color yadayada while using these "blank" products?

I have about 10 different foods sources that I feed off and on. I feed frozen, dry, and liquid foods of various sizes. This way I am sure that all the organisms in my tank get a well balanced meal. I also drip Kalk 24/7 equal to my evaporation rate. I add Magnesium and dose 2 part when necessary. I also do heavy water changes weekly or bi-weekly depending on time available.
