Hello all,
I am new to saltwater. I have had freshwater before but it has been a very long time. I just got a Fluval 13.5 Evo and I added water, live sand, and live rock from a local trusted distributor and I was going to attempt to perform a fishless cycle but family wanted to watch something in the tank so we got two clown fish. I did add 2 capfuls of beneficial bacteria as well and I have yet to see even a spike at all in the ammonia, nitrite or nitrate levels at all. I was wondering if this is normal due to all the live rock and sand added, as well as the beneficial bacteria that was added at startup. For a timeline... tank set up and start on Tuesday with live rock, live sand, beneficial bacteria, and premade saltwater. Added 2 clowns on Wednesday. Today it tested 0 across all 3 components previously mentioned. Is this normal? I have added an ATO to the system and it is working properly and the water in the tank is crystal clear and looks very nice but just concerned something isn't working properly.

Looks like it is working. Keep testing. If you have an ammonia issue be prepared to change out some water.
