Hi everyone.

Not sure but i am dealing with flukes in my tank. Tried treating the fishes in quarantine tank from 2 days with prazi. Then felt all the fishes in the tank have ich or maybe getting affected by it. So moved every one to the display tank and started treating with prazi two days ago. I dont have any corals .

Today i noticed this black spot on my naso tang.

Does anyone know what it is?

This may be a nick or injury that has left a blemish. be cautious of adding medication unless you are sure what you are treating for. It generally takes two days for Prazi to start working. What signs made you think flukes?
For this fish, you can treat safely with Ruby Rally pro or in quarantine if appearance of the spot gets larger or sore with seachem Kanaplex

The spot just vanished. Its not there anymore. I dont know , i check with everyone for ich or flukes. I was advised flukes so i went with it. First it was the clown tang that was rubbing in sand, now its also the anthias. I see small white spots on fins of this naso tang also on clown tang. Sailfin tang was rubbing on rock but has stopped now. All are eating fine. No issues with eating at all. I have a banana wrasse and dr wrasse both sometimes rub on rocks. So i am confused. Its been going on since weeks now.

Any comment on the pics and white spots guys? Praziquantel as discussed on messages is on a third day and seems to be not working. Is it fluke or ich?
Day 4 - Its just starting to take effect and you should notice change on day 5. Assure you have provided added oxygen

Jay there is a white spot on its fin, and a few more small dots. Now almost all my fishes are either rubbing on rocks or sand , but i am really not able to see any spots. Except a few on these two above, put of which naso tang is not rubbing anywhere. Just isn’t moving this fin where there is these spots.

Given the scratching, I'd say treating the tank with praziquantel would be something to try. I'm not sure what products you have available to you that have prazi in them. If you can let me know, I can try to work up a dose for you. I'll be off line though, in a bit until tomorrow morning (it's 5 pm EST here now).

There is something different about this product. They say it is 100% praziquantel? If so, the dose should be 0.41 grams per 50 gallons. They give two doses, both are higher than that.

Ohh okay, so should i dose as u said?
I would dose at the 0.41 grams per 50 gallons - I used the standard prazi dose from the literature for that (2.2 mg/l)

Clown tang went missing today. I suspect could there be hidden ich? Like in the gills? I see white spots all over my sailfin tang. And the spots on naso tang remain. Both the wrasses are also dancing or flashing. It’s difficult to understand. 5th day of prazi in process.

How big is your aquarium? The photo of the tang shows ich IMO.

That’s ich - the earlier photos didn’t show it as clearly. However, the number of spots on these fish is not really at a fatal number (yet). That means there is something else going on at the same time.

What about trying hyposalinity? Unless the fish are breathing fast (and then they might have velvet) hypo will control both ich and flukes.
