Hello,
Starting a 24x24x24 g cube soon. Appreciate suggestions for flow. Single island scape and internal overflow centred on back wall.
Got following extra pumps to choose from:
2 Mp10
1 Mp 40
2 250 gyres.
Any suggestions on what to go for and how to place. Pics of ur similar setups would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

We are due to take delivery of the tank early next month.
Nice, same here I should be receiving the tank early Feb and will start the build directly.

Long story short, I'd go MP40.

Short story long,
I ran an MP40 on my 60 cube for years and had no complaints. The 2 MP10's would be a good option but then that's 2 panes of glass with pumps on them. The beauty of the MP40 is you can paint the back wall and place it there.

IME with both gyres and MP's, the gyres require more frequent cleaning to maintain flow rate while the MP's need to be serviced much less frequently. MP's are also easier to clean but I've had a couple of wet sides go bad after only a couple of years, so higher cost of ownership. Given that I'm a lazy reefer who's wife seems to question anything I spend unless it's "for the fish tank" I'm inclined to slowly move back to MP's lol!

I had two gyre 230s on my 93 cube. Great linear flow but cleaning is a real pain. I now have replaced one with an MP40 and have an MP10 in the bottom corner. However, my tank is tucked in a corner so the two main viewing panes are pwoerhead free. Depending on what you intend to keep for corals I would think you could get away with 2 Mp10s - one on either side of the overflow on the back wall and see how that works for you. You will have less obstruction within the tank and still have three viewing panes with good flow.

I had one MP10 in 60 cube and it was fine, albeit it ran reef crest mode ramping to 90% which was sometimes loud. MP40 & gyre would be over kill, they'd move way too much water. I'd just try w 1 MP10 and then later decide whether to add one more vs spending the $ now on 2 MP10's.

Thanks all for the replies. Couple things I forgot to mention, tank will be in basement so noise isnt an issue. Also will be visible from 3 sides. I can lose a side to a pump which is less seen, still would rather have 3 sided view which will push me to have more quality corals.
So far 2 MP10 around overflow looks the best option but not sure if theyll provide enough flow in the middle if the scape from the front. Scape is pretty much open which theoretically should allow a lot of flow to go through to the front.
Tough call I k ow and most likely best to just try but still appreciate more opinions.

I have a 60 g cube. I had a koralia 1050 and icecap 1k gyre. The gyre failed and I replaced with a koralia 1500. I prefer the double koralia setup I have now.

I have them both tucked into the same bottom corner pointing at opposite sides. This takes up minimal space so I can still enjoy viewing from all 3 sides.
