Float switch that senses levels outside the glass sump or tank!

I recently saw a demo in Facebook there is some sort of a water level Auto top off thing that can sense water levels and turn on the switch ......but it is outside the glass not inside water!

Is there a ATO switch in the hobby utilizing this technology?

Wouldn't be a float switch but an optical sensor does this

Reefbreeders has an "external" ATO. Uses a optical sensor instead of float switch. Sensor mounts outside, but there is still a magnet on the wet side to hold it in place.

Might be others with optical sensors that can be mounted outside.

Non contact float switch. Spectrapure uses them with their Litermeter 4
