Update, little yellow is eating like a pig and looks very healthy. No head twitching and or flashing. He will get another round of General cure Sunday and I'll wait till the following weekend to release him to the DT. So far, so good!
Makes me happy! :)

Note: I saw your zoo trip pics. @4FordFamily and I are taking our littles to the zoo tomorrow. Dads trip with the kids to the zoo! His wife is working all day and mine is in Florida on a girls weekend away trip :)

Yup. If they misbehave I'll leave 'em in the baboon exhibit.

Water change done on DT, second round of General cure in the QT tank for "little yellow" and tried some flake out on him for a treat, loved it!

So hard to get a picture of a juvenile Halichoeres chrysus flying around the tank! Lol

Update: little yellow was released to the display tank this morning. Transfer went smoothly. Did a 20 gallon water change.

Breaking down the QT and cleaning everything.

Little yellow is accepted by all, as expected. The Tomini had to let him know who's boss a couple of times.

Size difference between little yellow and my blue star! Yes, it's a baby.

I'm a proud father! Lol

Now I'm thinking about a juvenile Melanurus. LFS has them for $25 a piece. Just might have to set the QT back up! Lol

Well, it took more time than I had to set up another QT. So they open at 11:00am and I'll see if I can get up there tomorrow to get one.

Got the Halichoeres melanurus home and acclimated and in QT. Good looking specimen. I'll let him settle for a couple hours and try feeding soon.

Well I had a ball valve on the mixing station start to leak on me, okay, a week ago and I finally dug through my PVC parts and found a 3/4" valve to replace it. Took a hour to cut and fit new plumbing. No leaks now!

Looking forward to pics of this guys. I had one years ago but my LFS took him back so I could build up my pod population Should have kept him. He was just a great fish to watch!

The melanurus stayed in the sand bed all day yesterday, but today he was out and did eat. First round of GC went in.

DT is experiencing a bacterial bloom for some reason. Getting worse each day. Problem is my UV's bulb is shot and I had to order a new one online because of cost. Local pond store has them, but they want $65 dollars for one. Online, $15. No brainier.

But I have to wait till Friday for it to show up. Placed the reactor on the sump with GAC to help.

Update:

Been busy with work and family. Wife decided to refinish the kitchen table. Sanding, staining and multiple top coats of polyurethane. Been helping her.

Tank has cleared somewhat but is still a little cloudy. UV bulb was guaranteed delivery Friday, tracking shows it's late and still in route. Hopefully today it will show up.

The melanurus has been up during the day while I've been at work and gets back in the sand by the time I get home from work. Stepdaughter confirmed. She has been feeding it. Second round of GC going in today.

Little yellow has been a very happy wrasse since release to the DT. Very aggressive eater when feeding. Fun watching it eat with the other fish!
