I had an Indian Ocean Flameback Angelfish completely disappear, no body, remains or a change in the Nitrogen Cycle. Not even any Skeletal remains. Wondering how long they live. Saw it on Saturday, and was healthy and eating. Didn’t see the Aquarium on Sunday. Monday it’s gone. All other fish including a Vox Angel are fine, zero aggression from any fish.

Sorry to hear. Missing fish are pretty common. Sometimes they jump out, flip around behind something on the floor and dry up. More commonly they die wedged into the rocks where the CUC get them. Rarely will you ever see an ammonia rise - and then only in small newly set up tanks.

We had a lungfish that would disappear for up to a year at a time and then show back up. We called him Houdini.
