It looks like a fairly new setup. How long has it been up and running?

Once you have some algae growth you should add some clean up crew. (snails, hermits...) :)

Have you tested ammonia and nitrates? I'm just wondering if your cycle is complete. How did you cycle it?
Yes everything tested, cycled it using daily dosage of prime and stability. This is how I’ve always cycled all my freshwater tanks and had a lot of success.
My water is RO aswell didn’t want to risk using tap

I found that right clicking on attached videos and "saving as" works best. Then I just play them locally. :)
My local fish shop owner keeps a lot of saltwater fish and says my Bicolour will be perfect in the tank ive shown, he’s already 4 inches ish and seems to have a lot of room and has seemed happy with the clowns

I see a lot of members say that they can't load or play a video directly from R2R. In my experience, it just takes awhile for the video to become 'available', for lack of a technical term.

Best of luck with your new tank!

I do have some concerns about your cycle. How have you been testing your ammonia and nitrate? Are you using *decent* test kits made for testing aquarium water, and not for like swimming pools?

I keep freshwater tanks too, I have for decades, and I too use SeaChem Prime in my freshwater tanks from time to time. However, Prime is generally not recommended here on R2R for use in saltwater tanks, and is considered counter-effective during the initial ammonia cycle. You need a small amount of ammonia present to build a population of beneficial bacteria, and the Prime is effectively binding up the ammonia, which makes it unavailable for the microbes that you're trying to cultivate during your cycle.

Also, just about all of the products that say that they add beneficial, nitrifying bacteria, such as SeaChem Stability, are largely considered "snake oil" by a lot of reefers here, meaning they basically don't work and are unnecessary. I disagree, I like and use bottled bacteria products, but I'd suggest trying Dr. Tim's One and Only or Fritz TurboStart 700, or if you can find it, BioSpira. These are the products that I believe most reefers here on R2R trust to cycle tanks.

If you're coming from freshwater, like most of us, just know that there is a larger learning curve with saltwater, and processes generally take longer to complete in your tank.

I hope that helps! Best of luck with your new tank!

Thank you for your advice I will take it all on board.

As for my previous comment, most people I’ve spoke to say that my Angelfish will be just fine in my 50 gallon as he is probably about full size now at around 4/5 inches and has lots of room for swimming and seems very healthy
Do you agree from the video

I'm not an expert on the care and tank size of those Angels, but I'm sure other more experienced reefers will be by shortly to weigh in on that. I just don't want you to have a tank crash in the near future if you're tank isn't fully cycled.

All my water is ok
Salinity bang on
No ammonia
No nitrates etc.
what would you recommend from here? Just leave the tank alone ?

The videos do eventually load for me in the browser. The apple ones (.mov) take longer but an android .mp4 is much quicker and seems to be embedded with an HTML player within post. (or could be my browser adding that)?

But right clicking and saving as goes quicker for me. :)

I would wait for a bit before adding any more fish. Monitor your water parameters over the next couple of weeks and see where things land after you have been feeding your fish for a while. You really don't have any visible algae that I can see so your tank is really fresh at this point.

Tank is super new for an angelfish… you have no algae at all for it to graze on. Also are you feeding it sea sponge? They need sponge in their diet to be kept. Also wondering about if the cycle is complete because of the lack of any kind of algae. Fresh and salt tanks are night and day when it comes to cycling them…

As others have said, I'd leave the tank alone and monitor your water parameters over the next few weeks with test kits intended to be used for saltwater aquariums. It looks like you started your tank with dry rock and dry sand, and tanks started that way can take weeks to months to fully cycle, even if using a product like SeaChem's Stability.

You really might want to take a look at the video linked in @splunty 's sig above. It's a great talk about cycling tanks by Dr. Tim Hovanec, who's a PhD Biologist and the creator of Dr. Tim's One and Only, which is similar to Stability.
