Fish missing and presumed dead - recover or leave?

One of my dartfish has been looking poorly for a couple weeks now - swollen front abdomen, looking a bit skinny elsewhere, white poop, unusually fussy about eating.

Anyway, as of today it’s “missing” and I’m not optimistic. This is in a 75g tank with sump+refugium.

Is there risk of ammonia spike from a fish this size? Or will the bristleworms (I have, well, a lot) and hermits take care of it.

You shouldn’t see an ammonia spike from a. Fish that size in that water volume. The cleanup crew may have already done the job to be honest.

Ive had fish go MIA presumed KIA and never recovered them.

These guys are notorious jumpers and can also slip through overflows quite easily.

I have a cover that I don’t think it could get through. But, if it did it’s probably inside a dog by now.

I’ll check the overflow…
