Hey all just visited new store to me and they had this little guy in the tank for sale at a decent price

Very nice looking fish hid a lot from all others in tank

Their claiming it’s a dark fin Cromis I feel like it’s not

Can anyone confirm or ID correctly ? So I can check the compatibility in my tank before I buy

Either way, 100% a damsel not a chromis (even though chromis are technically damsels but more mellow) lol

What do we recon ?
Do we have a winner ?
Yeah, looks like a Princess Damsel (Pomacentrus vaiuli).

If it had a distinct white strip by the start of the tail, then it would be a Speckled Damsel (Pomacentrus bankanensis), but I don't see a distinct enough white strip for it - so I'm thinking Princess Damsel is right.

Edit: By the way, for an easy way to tell if it's a Darkfin Chromis (Pycnochromis atripes) or not, the Darkfin Chromis has a distinctive vertical stripe through the eye/pupil.
