I have just noticed these blue specks all over my coral beauty that I have never seen before. I may have just missed them though since I recently changed up all the lighting and now it is very blue all day. This is at sunset too. The fish is eating and seems to be swimming normally
Not sure how to identify them but I have heard before white spots are usually ich or velvet. Is this either? If so how to treat? This is a reef tank if it makes a difference

That’s a moderately severe case of ich, Cryptocaryon. It will become fatal if not controlled (milder cases can sometimes be managed, but this fish is past that point).

What other fish are in the same tank?
Are there invertebrates in the tank? If so, you’ll need to treat all of the fish in another tank.

The two best treatment for this is coppersafe or hyposalinity (low salinity).

Let me know if you need details on either of those treatments
