If you are looking for cheaper, fast-growing coral that can be seen from across the room, Bubblegum Montipora Digitata is probably one of my favorites.

I have a green digi with relentless growth. I really wish I got my hands on a bubblegum digitata

Hello and Welcome to R2R! I love my birdsnest but it has fallen several times. For what ever reason something hits it and several of the live branches are dead. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to grow and fills in the ugly areas.

My first attempt at a reef. Overall pleased with the result so far after a year and some change. It’s funny how my taste in corals and visual lighting have changed so much since I started. I would love to change some things, but honestly just going to leave it as is and let it do its thing.

If I had to choose a favorite coral, it’d probably be one of the cheapest corals I’ve bought, a ~$10 green/teal birdsnest (top center). I like how it’s grown into an almost perfect spherical shape. I also appreciate how a “cheap” coral like a birdsnest can turn into something so beautiful and unique.

I’d love to see some other big birdsnest colonies or favorite coral from your tank and why it’s your favorite.

My favorite, lol is a leptoseris I got for $10. It's absolutely beautiful. Pictures just don't show the colors. Polyps are actually yellow surrounded by orange and at the edge of the growth plate it's this beautiful teal color. It's probably my smallest, but growing well.

“My first attempt at a reef” and homeboy has a tank that rivals long time reefers here. That looks amazing!

Thats excellent growth for a year. I’m going to do a pink birds nest and a thicker one like yours, as well as a monti dig when my tank hits 6 month mark. I’m only softies and lps now.
