So I'm already quite far into this build but I wanted to document what I've done and the process it took to get me where I am and show where I am going.
It all started with a stimulus check. My girlfriend agreed that I could get my own tank. I got her a biocube 32 for Christmas a few years ago. I agreed to do all the maintenance for her and since then I have been hooked. Researching corals and fish, live sales, local frag swaps, the whole nine yards.
So I had been looking at tanks previously and was set on this model. When I finally got the OK Bulk Reef Supply was sold out. So I had to go to the fijicube website. Wouldn't you know it they were sold out too. So I went ahead and ordered knowing that it would ship in May. May came around so I reached out to them seeing when I should be suspecting it. They said it was going to be mid to late July.
In the meantime I had ordered some stax rocks from two little fishing to get my aquascape sorted out so I could start cycling the rock. I had an extra 20 gallon long lying around so I decided to use that.
Then came the aquascaping process....

Make sure to account for space of corals filling in as they grow! Aquascapes are the best part IMO of starting a new build.

That’s a nice looking scape. I used Stax as well and I had a huge amount of time to play around with them. I was constantly redoing some aspect of the scape. I’m surprised my tank ever got wet but I finally settled on something and quit building it out. Following along to see what yours looks like once it’s installed In the tank.

I follow your build. I like what you came up with. My daughter had a blast playing with them too. She wants some for her tank now. My scape was just sitting in the kitchen so I was constantly fiddling with it. I really liked everything I came up with so it was super hard to choose.

Thanks, I think my scape turned out pretty well. I bet it was fun doing it with your daughter. You should totally get her some for her tank if there’s room. There’s another smaller version of Stax made by Two Little Fishies called Little Feet. I just used some to mount my new frags. They would be perfect if she’s got a smaller tank.

I let her have the 20 long that I used to cure my rock. That's cool that they make a smaller version. I might get some of those to attach my sinularia frags.

Yeah, check them out. You get 8 pieces for like $13.99 I think it was. If you’ve looked at my thread recently all the new white pieces with frags on them are the Little Feet. They would make a great anchor for a Sinularia.

Tank day!

I give you full credit for building the stand yourself and I’m sorry it didn’t work out the first time. My DIY skills are non-existent so I have no advice other than to say go slow and measure everything twice. It’ll work out.

Took apart the stand and found a flaw. 1 beam was almost 1/2 inch too long.
