I finished cycling the tank about a month ago and have had the clownfish fish for almost three weeks. The pair of clowns hang out in the bottom corner. Recently the female started randomly leaving the male and going to the opposite side of the tank and hiding under a rock. After a few minutes go by she goes back to the corner like nothing ever happened. They are not fighting and are paired. Is this normal?

My wife does this too, except she disappears around noon and comes back home around 0300 the next day. So I guess it's normal?

Keep an eye on her. If she gets vicious towards him you may have to intervene.

She might be scoping for a place to “host” them while he stays and protects their current area
