I do both. For the most part i thaw food out and drop it into the tank directly.

There are times when i will take a baby food jar, defrost food in it and store in the fridge. I am also usually adding garlic or vitamins when doing this. I then add in a dosings worth to the tank and then back to the fridge. Never had an issue.

What i will never do, is thaw it with salt water and store. Bacteria get to work and i have no way to make sure the food is still good. Just thaw in fridge for these feedings.

I defrost 2-3 days food and mix it with a bunch of food additives and leave in the fridge.

Thawing food is fine, the problem is people try and re-freeze it which ruins it and turns it into mush.

I am not having any issues with refreezing. The fish like it, and it looks the same as always.

I have a tiny 16G Biocube and only 2 fish. I am having a difficult time finding a frozen food where I can break off a small enough piece that it doesn’t way over feed and I have some LPS that needs spot feeding too. I have to do about 3 days a time.

I buy the small jello shooter solo cups and lids from the grocery store. I take an entire mysis cube (Dr. G's gut loaded mysis) and put it in a cup with the lid on, and sit it on top of my biocube. The heat from the hood thaws it in a couple minutes. Then I pour off extra liquid. I do lose a small amount of the shrimp, but I feel it is worth it not to add the extra oil that will not get eaten. Then I take a small spoon and portion out 3 or four more portions into additional small cups and stick them back in the freezer for later. I use the remaining cup to feed right away and then store the empty cups in the freezer so i can reuse them without them starting to smell bad.

I use the little solo cups from restaurants and refrigerate the rest for next day if any leftover from feeding

I used to defrost a few days worth in a squeeze bottle for the fridge but I found the skimmer to go crazy after a day's or so. I would have to constantly sterilize the container to prevent bacteria from forming. Not worth the hassle.

I just defrost for each feeding now.
