Hi all,

I need to break down my tank soon for a day to move it, and I was debating taking the opportunity to drill the tank. I currently have this HOB overflow(https://www.eshopps.com/product/pf-1000/), and I was looking at it and thought, maybe I can just drill this and buy a bulkhead to connect it instead of buying a whole new overflow setup.

Has anyone done something similar to this, or is there any glaring issues I might be overlooking?

Thanks!

Depending on the Tank make sure the glass isn’t Tempered, if not ur good to go. Grab an overflow box though it looks better, has the emergency drain, and the fish wont get sucked in. It’s pretty easy to drill it just go slow and keep the diamond bit wet. I always cut a hole in plywood and clamp it to the glass as a guide and have never had an issue.

Good Luck
