I picked up my first coral ever today! The good ole trumpet. I hope it looks as good as your one day.

It will. Check for feeding tentacles in the mouth area periodically, then Give it some mysis or good flake/pellet food. You’ll have a Hulk in no time

I love my alvepora, favias, and euphilias, oh and do't forget the lobos and trachys.

I always appreciate these threads. I find it funny how some corals are easy for some and others just can't seem to keep them. I myself am a killer of mushrooms. I know what the heck right:face-with-rolling-eyes:. I have favites, acans, duncans, euphilias(all types), alveporas, goniaporas, montiporas, zoas, leathers ect. All doing well but, those darn mushrooms

And I find (ex) symphyllia / lobophyllia to be very forgiving. They come in tons of colors and patterns, and don’t seem to care about placement. Low or medium flow. Fine. Low or medium light. Fine. Just keep them out of extreme flow and light and they seem to be happy and retain color

Those are show pieces! If that doesn't fire up all the begginers, nothing will.

Blueridge - it is an LPS that looks like an SPS - it can't be killed. Really, it is the most durable coral I think I have ever come across.

My first coral ever was a Duncan coral. 1 year later it has >15 polyps and my black storm clownfish lives in it . As a beginner with zero saltwater experience, Duncan's are very hardy.
