Hey, all!
Looking for some thoughts from more experienced folks on my Favia.
Got it about 3-4 months ago from my LFS off their bargain rack, figured I’d take a shot. It has proved to be one of the slow growing species. I’m noticing some different coloration in the center recently and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s starting to bleach and needs to move to a different spot or whether it’s happy and starting to split. Thinmm on it may be the former, but wanted opinions from someone who’s more familiar with this type. Pics in white and blue light are below:
Parameters:
0 ppm NH3
0 NO2
20 ppm NO3
440 ppm Ca
9 dKh
pH 8.3
Phosphate below 0.1 (sorry, it’s API, don’t have Hanna checker)
Temp: 78
Vol: 20 g
Light: ~80 par blue, 9 hrs/day
Flow: low
Placement: bottom of the tank (duh)
Other inhabitants: 2 clowns, neon goby, gramma, yellow watchman/pistol shrimp, cleaner shrimp, turbo snails, 1 emerald crab, hermit crabs, astrea snails
Other coral: several zoas, mushrooms, toadstool, cyphastrea, chalice, candy cane, favites, gorgonian, Duncan, GSP, Kenya tree
Thank you for any thoughts!
