I lost most of my coral 2 years ago after a major hurricane. Up to that point the constant dosing and maintenance and all the expenses involved in a large reef tank were taking their toll on my enjoyment of the tank. I easily lost over 2k in coral. So yea that was it for me with coral. I only have a couple huge leathers that made it and a few varieties of zoas I've long forgotten what they even are. I sold all of my dosing pumps and test kits. The only thing I test now is salinity. Now I enjoy keeping fish that I never could have in a reef tank. What's left of my coral seems to be doing well. However I do pour a little AFR in from time to time. I honestly enjoy keeping fish more than coral right now. If there's something I want I don't hesitate to put it in the tank. The only equipment I use are a heater, skimmer and a UV setup with lots of flow to keep it clean.
