@Devaji that would be pretty sweet! But I’m not that skilled of building pumps but I have a few ideas

So back to the build, I’m going to throw a pic dump at the end

Just a FYI.

A little background on the build. I initially started with an old school 2.5g that I made. Which was started Almost a year ago. I built the stand and ATO for it. No joke the little tank was ULM, only because I utilized an AWC/ATO by autoaqua. It did a 1/3 WC every three days.

Then I decided to upgrade to a 5g this past December which I also built

Ok back to the new build,
The stand I’m making is going to be replacing this little gem on the right.

Well I got the top welded and had my saw guy sit on the stand and it’s solid as a rock
(he’s a big boy 400lbs) I calculated the actual weight that will go on top is about 250-300Lbs

Here is a front shot

I got the three pieces of mirror acrylic cut for the sides and back panel

Now onto building the tank!

Ok so onto the tank part of the build
Welding the pieces together is quite boring in comparison to watching a video of it so I’ll just more pictures

I took extra precautions and used some 42 which took about three days for the tank seams to be completely cured.

I asked a local reefer to help me move the beast stand from the shop to my living room well mostly to get the SOB out of the car onto a dolly

and today here is a quick look of the tank on top of it. I haven’t decided on which fluorescent acrylic to use on the bottom.

Yes sir! You’ve got skills and an awesome shop. Would love to have access to that playground to build reef related items.

Thank you I have fun from time to time but mostly is implementing what I need reef related and actually building it. I’m in the process of building a calcium and algae reactor. Both are extremely oversized (for a 500g system)

Very nice work and great skills. :)
Thanks like I said it’s just a start I still have to finish the AIO partition, new light bracket and a few others
Sweet Build
Thank you for joining the ride

you and me both but think of all the tanks we would have. lol
For me tanks are easy but the accessories and “special equipment” is what I like to tinker with

Not a giant but my daughter wanted her own and I had a old 40B laying around. Used a Eshopps Medium Eclipse drilled peninsula style. A minor goof up on my plumbing from the eclipse over flow made where I had to cross my emergency drain in a weird way but in the end it all came out well and is completely silent with a DC pump installed.

That is a very sweet build I have been ogling that tiny skimmer you have debating if my 20g AIO will need it. But I’m mostly planning on doing AWC for nutrient reduction and replacement of minor elements

Honestly the only reason I put it on there was to monitor how much waste I was removing. I now have a regular size one in there. BUT, I will say that skimmer worked great in my fusion 20 I had.

awesome I will have to look into that, but this here ain’t no fusion 20

here I have my son inspecting his new build

So after a long Saturday morning and a trip to Lowe’s I finally relocated the electronics..
5764479F-1B3B-4548-9B91-A1F5D6EE4952.jpeg

also I will be building a custom controller board. Because it’s a totally a rats nest on that shelf but I have everything in place like Tetris. unfortunately I had to recalibrate the doser cause I had to dump the lines to move them.
05A410D4-ABBB-40D3-9DE8-F3BC02E5EFFB.jpeg

Everything fits in there like a glove with some extra storage at the bottom and yes I will be building a custom two port ATO container for both tanks.

he’s reminding me to dose phyto
(baby proofing success)
