I currently have a co2 scrubber on my tank, that's going good. I've been debating adding an external air line to it but wondering some things related to it -

Im thinking I should filter the incoming air for things like pollen, pollutants, pesticides, smog, etc. Will an inline carbon filter be sufficient to clean the air?

Will me T'ing into the current Co2 scrubber setup cause me to burn media by having to scrub the incoming air? Or will it make it more efficient?

Yes, you should add a carbon filter to the air intake but this is primarily a protection from chemical contamination from things you might use in your yard like insecticide or lawnmower exhaust, car exhaust, etc. You will want a screen to prevent insects and large dust/pollen etc from getting in. Tying into your CO2 scrubber will make the media last longer since the outside air will have less CO2 to scrub out. Not sure why you would want/need to tee into it. If you are going to drill a hole in your house, might as well use it and ditch the inside air intake completely.

Probably recirculating CO2 on his skimmer.....that might be the reason for T....
