Hi everybody,
I’m considering installing a Eshopps Eclipse overflow on my 75g tank to reduce the noise.
Has anybody experienced this overflow? Is it silent?
I understand it’s a herbie type overflow, is this type less silent than a bean animal overflow?
Thanks

How did you do it?
I designed a sort of silencer that allowed me to speed up or slow down my return pump to the literal point where sometimes I question if anything in my system is running at all.. It literally makes absolutely no noise whatsoever. I changed my design a few times but this is currently in my overflow

So this initial design had flaws and was altered to what it is now.. but this allowed me to achieve silence

I've had this overflow for about a year now, I'm happy with it and would recommend it. It was easy to install, I find it quiet.

I realized that it needs a hole in the tank of 60mm. I already have one of 50mm. Do you think it could be adapted someway to this measure?

First of all I run the Prodigy version... Love the design because of the closed top on the internal overflow.
You will need to enlarge your hole to 60mm. To do that just purchase a diamond hole saw with a centering bit. Clamp a piece of plywood on the opposite side of the glass you are drilling and use the centering bit as your guide. Hopefully that makes sense. If you went to a smaller bulkhead, you would severely reduce your flow.

Drilling the tank really scares me
I’d rather reduce the flow with a smaller bulkhead. Do you think the bulkhead 60mm could be replaced with a 50mm one? What I do not understand from the pictures is if the original bulkhead is a single piece with the overflow and cannot be unscrewed

The bulkhead is put in first and the acrylic is glued in after. Again don't be scared on drilling a tank. You can practice on a piece of non-tempered glass and see how super easy it is.

Thanks! Last check: I cannot find the detailed measures of the internal box.
I have to install it in the left back corner where there’s the hole.
From the center of the hole to the side wall, I have 7cm (2.75 inches), do you think there’s enough room?
