Hello,

I have a 7ft 255 gallon tank and 75 gallon sump. I keep going back and forth on the Emperor as I know they get big and my tank may be on the border of having one. I know the majestic will go just fine. Here is the current livestock.

3.5in Regal Angel
2in Flameback Dwarf Angel
3in Yellow Tang
2.5in Tomini Tang
3in Sailfin Tang
3in Lieutenant Tang
3.5in Chocolate Tang
3in Black Leopard Wrasse
3in Orange Shoulder Wrasse
2.5in yellow and Purple Wrasse
3in Melanurus Wrasse
2.5 in Longnose Hawkfish
2in Royal Gramma

If I do go with the Emperor, he will be quarantining with a Scott's Fairy and Shark Fin Naoko's Fairy wrasses

I think the emp will be an issue with a dwarf angel and a regal. I had one in with a coral beauty and had to re home cause he kept trying to kill the CB as a juvenile! And regals are more on the shy side. I had one that I had a juv french angel with and it was fine until the french got bigger than the regal and he started to bully her and managed to kill my tuskfish. I love emps but my regal is more important to me so I took it off the list for my 300 gallon so the regal can remain comfortable. However theres lots of people on here who keep that majestic/girdled with the regal no issue. Thats what I was planning in my tank too. I think an emp is asking for problems if theres another angel that is less aggressive than an emperor. Just my two cents :) I do love emperors and they are so tempting!

What about a Blueface? Would it kind of be in the same aggressiveness as the Emperor or is it a little more calmer. I know each individual fish is different.

Not sure. I had a juvenile blue face but she came in with flukes and I noticed it too late and lost her. She was pretty active but she did like to chase fish twice her size around even when she was added last lol. I could have just gotten a mean one but from what I remember researching they have a rep for being bullies. I wouldnt have put another angel in with her from what I saw in the two months she was with me

Majestic angelfish are usually going to be a lot more mild in temperament and grow significantly slower than an emperor will but to me the emperor is the best looking angelfish.

Assuming a juvenile/sub adult, there should be no concern quarantining it with the wrasse so long as the qt isnt something absurdly small (standard 20+ will do fine), if the angel is a full 5"+ adult, I wouldn't suggest quarantining them together unless the tank is a 40+ (40 is the size I usually use to quarantine my own fish)

Temperament wise as adults, you can expect both a blueface and emperor to be fairly similar (generally going to be the boss of a tank).

Pictures to compare one of my more recent emperors to a majestic that lives with it.
You can easily see how the emperor overtook the majestic in size in less than a year.

Thanks for the info. My qt is a 40b. If I do pull the trigger it will be a 3-3.5in one
