So I have had this female for about 5 months. When I first got her, her stomach was pinched but she had a huge appetite and after my male showed her that frozen food & pellets are food, she literally eats everything in sight. She’s always the first fish coming up when I walk up to the tank. She & her boyfriend started doing their mating dance pretty much immediately as well.
When I saw her putting on weight, I was very happy, of course. Then I thought maybe she was pregnant as her belly really started to grow, but now her belly isn’t going away. I would say she’s been looking chunky for maybe 6-7 weeks, but in the last week or so, she looks like she’s going to pop.
I feed this tank every other day and the male is pretty normal looking. No belly at all, but still very healthy. Pics of both are attached. There are tons of amphipods in their tank and I do see her snacking on them too.
Is it possible that my girl is egg bound or just fat? If she is egg bound, is there anything I can do to help her?
My first female jumped out of this tank so she’s his second girlfriend. I want her to be happy & healthy, so whatever I can do to make that happen…

So do you think it’s anything to be concerned about? It looks like she’d be uncomfortable but she acts normal. She’s just so fat… not to fat shame her. Lol

Oh my, she is the fattest dragonette I have ever seen. I don't think an egg mass would be quite so dramatic. I have endler females who don't look as plump when they're about to drop. Has she had any de-worming treatments since you got her?

She has not… I hadn’t thought of that as a possibility! What would you recommend? I feel so bad for her as she literally looks like she’s going to burst one day soon.
