No idea what has happened as last night hammer was just fine. This hammer split into two heads 6 months ago. Appears that one head is now wasting away. All other hammers appear to be doing fine. There are hermit crabs and two peppermint shrip. Three blue chromys, one six stripe rasse, and two clown fish. The rocks also host a fee bristle worms. All are seasoned. Nothing new! Several “before” pics and a few “after”.

i would inspect the hammers for flat worms and check on the tank with a flashlight at night see what other pests there are

I had a peppermint shrimp go after my hammer coral a few months back. I had three of them so I captured all of them and moved them into the sump. He/They ate a two head hammer in ~ two nights. Miraculously, the hammer did recover slowly after about a month.
