Gotta 3 day trip coming up and nobody to come in and feed the fish so I’m going to have to figure out the weight of dry/flake or pellets to maintain my .05 po4
Currently 7g of mysis and 1” nori is bang on to stabilise
Nitrates however are harder to keep in a decent range ( 18)
I know it’s going to be less than 7g cos it’s mostly loaded with po4 but I’m going to have to go down this route of then how much each setting is dishing out
Pain in the butt!

When I set mine up, I just took what I normally feed, put that on a paper towel, and manually set the feeder up to make a pile next to it in order to get the right amount down.
I’ll have a play tomorrow, it’s annoying because I’ve just nailed po4 down after a rough ride last month

Yeah I get that. THe first time I set mine up, I just guessed, and BOY did I ever over feed ! That was crazy. SO the next time I used this approach and it works pretty well.

Reading your post, I was surprised that others are as precise as me with managing inputs to keep nutrients in check.

I spent a month dialing in my autofeeder and carbon dosing to maintain stable PO4 and nitrate, but I am gone for a month at a time, with my daughter sending me weekly test data. It has worked pretty well.

Based on this experience, I would personally not worry about 3 days, even in my small 100L water volume. It takes longer for things to get out of whack in my system as long as I don’t do anything crazy.

I suggest experimenting with a small input of food with autofeeder and watch phosphate for a few days. I think given that short duration, you will find that close enough is good enough. Best of luck.

I just have a cheap auto feeder so it’s 12 hours or 24 so I’ll set it at 8-9

Could be a lucky guess
The feed was 9am so 5 hours ago , another at 9pm so will check in the morning but for 3 days away I think it’ll stay within a reasonable range
