Super awesome low tech tank. I’m hoping to do exactly the same with my 38g tank. Nothing fancy, just consistent husbandry addressing things as they come. There’s just something about a tank that doesn’t have all the fancy bells and whistles but grows coral like no tomorrow. Well done
Yeah def a low tech tank. Ive been dosing by hand since I started dosing, and I didnt add a smart auto top off until about 3 months ago.

I feel like the best thing you can do for a tank is setup it up almost how it will be for its entire life from day 1. Changing lights, salt, filters, dosing this or that, and so on when the tank is cruising just sets it back imo.

Had to get rid of my big hammer colony. Grew it from 2 heads to around 35ish. But it was so cramped and I don’t have the tools to properly frag that type of coral. On the bright side I was able to bring some corals from the back to the front!

Firework Clove polyps taking over my pump nozzles. Kinda wish I didn’t put them on the back wall

Great tank, and great advice. So many are tinkering with this and adding that and their tanks look like $#!%. Yours is low tech and beautiful.

Thanks for the kind words!

Reef tanking taught me the power of time and consistency!

Been making some changes lately and it feels good to free up some real estate. Traded my chalice for a pink tip torch which I’m stoked on. Green sinularia had to go as well, it was bothering my torch and acans.

The chalice was such a fast grower that my alk consumption has dropped significantly so need to recalculate my new dosing schedule.

Lepto survived underneath the chalice. It’s crazy how hardy corals actually are.

This little bit of chalice was too stuck to the rock to remove, so I just left it as a souvenir.

Spotted mandarin has been doing good. It really adds some awesome character to the tank.

My alk consumption has dropped significantly. Still working out a daily dose to keep things as they were.

Cleaned out the aio chambers for the first time. A lot of detritus had built up back there

Cleaned out all the pumps and got the flow dialed in. Loving the look and movement right now.
