Sorry you find it confusing. In looking at competitors sites I find they generally show a picture of their bottle, but I cannot see the pods in it. Being 50-200 micron they are almost microscopic.I gotta be honest your website kind of confuses me.. you have alot of buffet fancy names.. but I typically like to click on photos to gauge size of the pods in the product however all the pics dont really tell me anything about the pod product, and I have to click through all the products and read the descriptions of whats what and then remember which colossal name you have created etc. probably just me, but it is off putting that it isnt just more straight forward.
There are two major distinctions in copepods, benthic (crawlers) and pelagic (free swimmers).
We culture 7 distinct species and originally had 4 options. As we have studied to increase our knowledge of copepods we expanded the line so customers can get the pods best suited for their needs.
Benthic pods are the most commonly sold
Tisbe, Apocyclops, and Tigriopus listed in order of size. We also culture what we call Harpa pods which are a close cousin to Tisbe only smaller. These pods are great micro CUC and provide the perfect food source for Mandarins, Dragonets, Scooter Blennies, Sand Sifting Gobies etc. And are most likely to colonize.
Pelagic pods because the swim in the water column are less likely to create vast colonies as they are readily preyed upon. However they are the best pods for high metabolism cruising fish like Wrasses, Anthias etc.
We offer combinations of both types separately plus combinations with both together so you can target your specific tank requirements based on stocking. We also offer each combination with the addition of rotifers as they are extremely beneficial to our tanks as a fish food, coral food and algae eaters.
