Are you serious? Yes I'm sure the media is just focusing on the Pit Bull incidents because it makes good television.
I would say the media always focuses on any dog attack that involves pitbulls. When ever there is a dog attack not involving a pitbull it will just be reported as a dog attack. Pitbulls are the only dogs mentioned by breed when they are involved in any kind of attack.

And that study doesn't prove dick...Most dogs on the streets have no papers or records of what breed they are. If it even remotely looks like a bully breed its referred to as a pitbull. So if some one gets bit by a mastiff/lab mix thats a stray and the dog resembles a pitbull it will be called a pitbull and put down.

Well if you go by that study my dog a bull mastiff has less attacks then a lab. Plus the bull mastiff has been combined with a Presa Canario, a dog bred mainly for protection.

pit bulls are born with an instinct to kill.
This statement is completely false. Pitbulls were and still are bred for gameness which is the instinct to compete and win no matter what. Whether its dog fighting, weight pulling or just plain tug-o-war they refuse to lose. Thats the instinct their born with. Saying that they're born to kill is just an ignorant statement.

A buddy of mine had a Presa Canario puppy and that thing was a gentle giant but people were extremely fearful of it. With a face like a pit bull and the body of a mastiff that dog was a walking intimidator.

If I had the space I would definetily get one, but living in the DC area does not allow for much yard space.

Ignorance comes when someone opens thier mouth before thinking and researching. This is one case where I researched before opening my mouth.

Yeah I was happy when my sixline jumped over into the overflow and had a ride down the drain into my sump. All he did was eat the benefical pods and nothing else. He also owned half the tank and made many fish become carpet surfers. I only buy Halichores wrasses now.

Hey guys this thread was to bring awareness to people thinking about buying a six line wrasse. How unfortunately accurate the analogy might be its not about the dogs.
This thread should closed

I'm glad to see the original posters' comments. I've been contemplating a wrasse and had heard that 6-line's were good for nudi control, but . . . I think I'll continue to shy away from that one.

Well cool heads have prevailed for the most part. If you guys want to discuss the pit bulls or anything else (except religion and politics), feel free to open a thread in the lounge....

In my 200 gallon my six line harrassed my poor Mandarin almost to the point of death. I removed him.

Recently in my prop system a different six line did take out my Mandarin:(
He went tile surfing a week later:mad:

Evil fish!

i have a 4 line, he does harrass others, but then my tangs stick up for the other fish.... if you want something to control flat worms and such, a melanurus wrasse is better.... i just cant catch the 4 line in order to get him out and replace him.... plus my girlfriend really likes him....

Interesting post....I had a six-line for about 3 months, until he jumped ship. the one I had always seemed timid and hid most of the time.

I am sorry for taking this post off topic. I fight this battle with the bully breeds every single day of my life because I choose them as my breed of choice. They are good dogs, they are loving dogs, they are worthy companions and until the general public can see that and understand that things will never change for these breeds whether it be a pitbull, Presa Canario, Bull Mastiff, Fila, or African Boerbel.

Again, I apologize

Sandy
