Some more zoas in qt. Think I’m about done with zoas. Now grabbing some favias. Picking up ultron, skittles, candyland and yellow submarine.
Got my kessil WiFi dongle installed and found a trident last night! Also have a frag rack coming from zen reef to get all these zoa frags up off the sand bed.
Also getting a pair of captive bred Picasso clowns tomorrow.
Sent in an icp test and everything was pretty good. Lanthunum was a little high but I dosed it in my skimmer that day to see how it would work vs the 5 micron filter sock. Won’t be doing that again.
Bad news-Well my atk sensor went out on me. Got the new version from BRS coming soon. Hopefully it lasts longer. This one was only 8 months old.
Good news- the backup sensor works but I had to turn off alerts until I get the new one installed.
Great news- Trident is up and running. Numbers are pretty good. My last manual test had mag high at 1600 so I hadn’t really been dosing. It’s back down to 1440 on the trident. I’ll probably test manually tomorrow to see how the numbers compare just out of curiosity. Tank has been getting a little algae but I have quite a few inverts waiting to come out of quarantine, along with a ton of zoas.
Awesome build so far! I just bought a used 30x30x24 tank and I was hoping I could pick your brain about your light setup. How do you like your Kessil A360x's with T5's? I am considering going this route but I was just thinking of going with a single A360x for budget reasons. I'm not looking to keep an sps dominate reef, just mixed. Do you think I'd get enough coverage with as single 360x?
I love the 360x. With some clever aquascaping I’m sure you could do 1 pretty easy. The t5 provide a blanket spread which is fine for softies and lps. Then you could keep sps under the 360x.
QT is packed and just added a 3 head cotton candy torch today!
Display is coming along. Nitrates dropped a little too low for some of my zoas liking but I caught it fairly quick. Here’s some shots with t5 and one just kessils(blue pic lol)
