Does anyone know why my toadstool has these bumps at night?

I bought a supposedly weeping willow toadstool about a week ago. It seems fine during the day with its polyps out, but definitely does not look like a weeping willow unless it is irritated by something and just not fully extending its polyps. Tonight I looked at it with a flashlight and it’s closed up like my other toadstool, only it has a few bumps on it or tips still showing. I did notice a little piece of algae wrapped on some so I used an extremely soft eye shadow brush glued to a stick that I bought specifically for my aquarium , and I very gently brushed away the algae. But those little yellowish white bumps just kind of blew away in the current as well. I hope I didn’t brush the polyp tips away. Has anyone seen this before? Here’s a picture. During the day it has white tips on the polyps.

It’s probably ticked off and about to shed. Give it time. Mine did that for a few days when I first got it and look at it now that it’s happy. Closing up at night is normal.

Thanks. I really hope so. It would be cool if it does that. I’ve been feeling that I got gyped. Nice looking toadstools by the way.

Thank you. You can see even in my picture above the little green one on the bottom left is closed up and was shedding. Now it’s back open and happy. Once yours gets happy and open please share some pictures. I have been on the hunt for a true weeping willow, they are difficult to find. Finding a true one is like finding a unicorn, I hope you got a good one. My big one was sold as a Japanese weeping willow and it’s polyps aren’t quite long enough to weep.
