I started using the BRS 2 part a few weeks ago. I measured, dosed, then measured again. Did this for a couple weeks after water changes until I felt comfortable with how much I needed to dose weekly and then daily..... then decided to switch to reef crystals for water changes and now have to start over. But any way my question, whenever I add calc, alk, and mag in weekly doses my corals seem to go crazy and open more than usual. My flowerpot that is finicky to any disturbance or noise in the house extends all the way. Why is this?

Why would you need to change your dosage amount that doesn't make sense? Your dkh in the tank might be different but your uptake shouldn't change. The only time you need to change dosing amount is if uptake by the corals changes or your water volume changes. As for your corals going crazy after dosing thats because your corals are adapted to your set alk ,calc and mag levels. Thats where they are happy, when your levels drop over the week since your doing it weekly your corals get mad and stress they are lower then what they are used to. In short they are not liking the fluctuations in your tank. You should really dose daily or invest yourself into a doser, set it up to dose the correct amount and forget about it. Keep in mind the more coral you get the larger your uptake is going to be and you'll have to up the amount you dose.
