When choosing an aquarium build, do you consider room for controller as an essential requirement?

Do you prefer a full length sump covering the whole aquarium or leave room for controller / dosing pump alike?

Go as big as possible. There is plenty of space else where for other equipment. Attach a shelf inside stand and/or attach equipment to the stand walls. I have a 40B as a DT. My sump is a 40B with a Fuji kit

My sump is outside of the tank stand on a small stand, nothing is underneath the tank.
I have all of my equipment on the wall next to the tank. I don't really have to bend down for anything, I'm old lol

A lot of reefing questions have been popping up. I start to type my response, look it over and ask myself "what the heck are you thinking?" My own thinking process doesn't even make sense!
Honestly, I just have a sump to hold macro algae, skimmer, nothing special. I just like to hide all the uglies away!
So, as big as I can use is what I do.
