I have two MP40mQD running opposite ends of my 180G. Dimensions are 64x29x22. Mode is reefcrest at 55% and anti-sync. When I turn it any higher it seems to stir up and too much.

I thought I was getting a lot of flow but maybe the flow was just blasting on each side but overall was not moving much.

Should I get another MP40 or one of those gyre things? What about placement?

Note I cannot add an MP40 in the back of the tank. The glass on the back is over 3/4" and MP40 wont work. If I go for the gyre, where should I put it?

I like the gyre things personally (Like the F330's). I would think you could use a bit more flow.

Where would you add it? Keep the MP40s on opposite sides and put a F330 in back?? Or two MP40s on same side and F330 on opposite?

The second way. I would tend to put the Gyre near water level - and have it randomly go accross the whole tank - (with random flow settings) - An F350 would also be an option. I've used both with excellent results

I love tons of flow. In addition to what you have…
I use 4 gyres, 2 on each end, one horizontal, one vertical on my 180.

So you think I should run two MP40s on each side of the tank, and add at least a single Gyre also on each side of he tank?

What's the placement of yours?
