Does something exist online that I could use to deism my sump? I already have it on graph paper but would like some input. Additionally could I get some feed back on my sump design. The sump is a 40 breeder. My skimmer is a reef octopus INT150.

Sketchup is a 3D modeling software that has a free version, but for a one-time use you may spend more time learning to use it efficiently than you would getting good with pen and paper…

How large is the display tank? Does the ATO reservoir face the front or the back? having it in the back would be a pain to refill? What about the light? Having light shining onto the skimmer and other equipment adds a lot of work cleaning algae... better block it. I guess you have algae in the middle chamber... What stops it from going into the return pump section? -also after a power break then water level is much higher?

Looks nice. Was it worth the $155? I’m curious if a separate ATO reservoir would be better.

I like the two examples shown to you. The weirs go the entire width of the 40 breeder. Yours are too short which increases the water velocity and makes them less effective in reducing microbubbles.

I notice in your sketch the baffle leading to the return chamber forces the water over the top instead of below. You should re consider the locations of the baffles so the water will flow below the baffle into the return chamber so air bubbles will not be created and forced back into the display. The bubbles will make the water appear almost cloudy in the DT.

To reduce the cost, I used ceramic tile to build the baffles. It was a lot cheaper than either glass or acrylic (about $1 per baffle). Also, depending on the size of your return pump, you may need a larger return chamber than what the sketch seems to show. I use an external bucket for the ATO water instead of using a chamber in the sump. Although, my sump is a 29 gallon tank rather than a 40 tank.
