Now you tell me. Few weeks ago I almost lost it (along with all my other LPS).....but then the Water Changes fixed the tank.

But SPS is my new passion (or I would say Challenge) with the New Tank.

I want this Yellow Tipped SPS from you. (Hard to come by around here...As Healthy as yours)...

not the whole thing of course. Just a medium Healed Frag on a Plug.

TANK MATE (Timer +) Final Design ( Shipped to R2R Mates) For Peer Review

So for those of you who didn't catch the Announcement on this thread last year (Nov 2018)
I reach out to the community seeking some volunteers to participate in a Team Design for a DIY Project.

The Original Prototype was just a Simple Visual Timer so that I could Track my Anthias Feeding (to Not Underfeed or Over Feed)

Four R2R member volunteered, @Katrina71 , @NY_Caveman , @IgnatiusRath and @Rakie

and the rest is history, as we embarked on some brainstorming, ideas, and features that took the Tank Mate Timer (into + Territory)

I did all the Hardware, Software but these fine folks chipped in both intellectually, and provided the Sprit and Encouragement to Finish the Project 5+ months Later.

I just Shipped them 4 (Tank Mate+) Units, and they will be arriving within the next week or so.

INTRODUCING the TANK MATE (Timer+) (Gen4)

The Brain/CPU is a Ardiuno Nano Micro Computer, and lots, and lots of parts to make it (Fully Functional with All the BELLS and WHISTLES )

When I have some time, I'll be putting together a Full Spec in the Thread I started, and a Demo Video.

It's basically a Timer to Store MAINTENANCE REMINDERS for your Tank. Up to 10 Reminders, and the Brains does all the Logic to keep you on top.

The KEY FEATURE is an LCD DISPLAY which provides you Various Informational Displays on your Custom Set Maintenance Reminders.

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE of the ALL in ONE 10 Reminder Status View.

But there is more....Much More!


THERE ARE 4 Customizable ALARMS (for Each of the 10 Reminders)

And to Tune those Maintenance Reminder Alarms ( It stores for VIEWING your History, up to 10 Last time Maintenance Completed)

This is a SUMMARY OF ALL THE FEATURES ( Quite Complex, so Wait for the Demo and Maybe some Good or Bad Review from the Participants)

Of course, the Highlight is the Cool 7 Build In LED Capability, which I did a DEMO Ligthing Run using (Custom Software during Christmas)

This idea came up just as I am about to get more Anthias, and they require Frequent, small regular Feeding.

I just lost one Carriberryi Anthias in DT after having a pair (possibly not fed enough, or the Copper Treament in QT finally caught up on organ damage). 3 more Anthias on the way.


Feeding properly could also improved Nutrients, affect your Nitrates, and Phosphates, and coral/fish happiness. (Maybe not much, but every bit helps. if consistent and over time)


Basically I'm a busy Dad, with 3 teens and I work from home, so plenty of distractions. (even thought my fish tank is in the my Wall of Office which I see all day)

Some Days I forget to feed, other days I overfeed (memory lapses due to many distractions, phone calls, txts, doorbell ringing, driving kids everywhere).

I was going to do a white board reminder, or prepare daily portions but that's just messy, or more work.

CAN YOU TRUST YOUR FISH TO TELL YOU when it's Time to FEED Them

So this Simple Cheap Clock with Status Animation will do the job.

It all can be assembled to be the Size of a LARGE BIC LIGHTER, or bigger in a case.

5) ANY USB POWER ADAPTER kicking around the house

A wired button may be needed to enhance features, but it currently works by just resetting the module (on board reset button)

SO I GOING to made a CLONE MOD another one for my SON (Super Mario, PACman, etc.... a Reminder to Get off Chair from Endless Video Game Playing)
