I was getting warnings all day about one of my EB8s being off. My wife assured me that everything was ok. When I got home, everything was in fact working but I had no control of anything. The bus was down. I saw that my display was on but it was just the backlight. There was no data showing. I unplugged the display and everything started working, plugged the display back in and the bus was down.

Apparently, the display is dead and is locking the aquabus. Anyone had this happen before?

I have had a similar issue.. I found it was a break in the thin cable running to the display. I opened up the display, cut the bad section of cable out, and resoldered to the board. No issues since and that was a couple years ago. I would check the cable well and also check that port for corrosion

I'll have to check it out this weekend. Where was the break? Near the connector or the display?

It was in the middle of the cable.. either pinched in the door or a victim of my cat

Did yours look like this? I think I may have found it. I'll probably clean it up and resolder it.
