I know there are thousands of threads about this but I can’t seem to get a straight answer reading through them!

So quick back story. I started up a 20gal tank and had it going for about 2 months, but I came across a good deal on a new tank so I set up a 65 gal tank with a 20 gal sump and transferred over all my LR and media to the bigger tank. Have had this running for about 2 weeks now.

I started to notice brown algae build up on my sand and LR that was really light in the mornings and would get worse through the day with the lights on, and was due for a water change so I did it. I was trying to siphon all the gunk but it would just clump up and not really get pulled out with the siphon. While filling the tank back up with fresh saltwater I noticed brown stringy algae all over the place, on my LR, Wave makers, and on a couple of the corals. (Currently have 2 small mushrooms, zoa frag, torch, Duncan, and tiny gsp frag). I was definitely lacking some flow in my tank so I had picked up a much stronger power head, so I got that going and it seemed to clear a good amount of the stringy algae.

The next day- I had turned my lights on to see if it would reappear or not and I saw that there was tons of small stringy algae floating through the tank and the water was very cloudy so I turned the lights off after 30 minutes. I also Checked my levels and my nitrates were @ 0 and phosphates @ 0.03.

I started adding in microbacter 7 while mainly keeping the lights off for 2 days (had blues on for an hour). The display seemed to look a lot clearer without any of the floating stringy algae.

My current stock in the tank is:
2 designer clowns
1 blue tang
1 watchman Goby
1 tiger pistol shrimp
1 cleaner shrimp
6 hermit crabs
4 Mexican turbo snails
4 nassarius snails

Equipment:
2 AI hydra 26s mounted 12in above water
Bubble magus curve 5
Jebao 0w-10
Jebao wp-25
Refugium with chateo

I unfortunately did not take pictures prior to the water change, but it did not have the bubbles you see in most Dino pictures.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
