Dinos got one last punch in at my aquarium... kinda.

I finally got UV to attack a dino bloom I've had for a while.

I set it up today, had a pump in my DT feeding the UV which dumped back into the DT... turn on the pump, and subsequently slipped on a small puddle in front of my tank.

Do I fall gracefully? No. I flail, trying to grab something... only to grab the return line of my UV unit, pulling it out, and spraying ALL my electrical sockets and power adapters. I then hear popping sounds and the smell of burnt copper.

I lay there for a few more seconds, ribs bruised, electronics sprayed with dino-infested water, and contemplated my life.

I hate dinos.

Sorry though. That really sucks. I’d probably continue to lay there for at least 30 mins contemplating life decisions…

Haha, I think it turned out okay - something electrical definitely burned from the popping and the smell, but the spooky thing is everything is working. Something is probably messed up though, waiting to be a major inconvenience at the worst time... Hmm...

Glad you’re alright. I would definitely try to find out what burnt. You are asking for a house fire keeping that stuff running with potentially exposed wires if the insulation burned off.
