I stopped running GFO in my system awhile back when I put the ATS online, I run carbon from time to time on my system and when I do I just throw it in a media bag. I've not had any issues running my matrix in the reactor!

Just watched the aquamaxx vid. i have this Mini80 from bubblemagus and ive run rowafas and this other media (pearl something? cant remember the name) and it gets clogged fast!

i love matrix and used it in my old rsm. im going to fill this reactor with matrix and remove the filter pads.

Aqua SD is about 15 minutes from my house. They have a good reputation.
Never been there though.

Btw, probably the best use of a Yoga mat that I've ever heard of!

Also, jury is still out on AP700. My acros are not fans so far. Really close to ordering the Hydra mounts I need.

Nice!!! Their eBay and Reef2Reef sale was a lot of fun and it looks like they do that on a regular basis! Very excited to receive the new coral. I forgot how many frags are coming, it is more than 10! haha

Throw the other lights on the tank and call it a day! I am leaning towards adding the giesemann retro to the tank, leave the kessils call it a day and leave it alone! I really like the way the tank looks with one T5 on it, so adding a second I think will work out great while the 2 kessils provide the extra light and shimmer I love.

Ran hydras for over a year in the hood of my rsm250. Great color and growth. About 8" off the water due to the canopy (and behind a thick clear piece of plastic shielding. Not sure if that affected the PAR).

I love the hydras. I can't seem to get the color on the ap700 the way I like it. (Either too blue or too white). I do love the build quality and look of it though.

I wouldn't spend the extra for the radions. Maybe a little better, but A LOT more $$.

Never an issue the hydras, heat or otherwise, and they were enclosed in the lid (with side vent fans during the day).

That's where I'm at. Even my lfs is recommending the hydra over the xr15. ( I have a nuvo 40 my first tank) I like the xr15 because the gen4 lens and the presets available that have a proven track record. But the people at the lfs obviously know what there doing. And it's only 50$ difference.

@mrvn you would need minimum two xr15's and a third wouldn't be out of the question later on. I've need seen any radions personally, so I'm partial! The ap700 app was okay, again I'm not used to that much control.

@seanstanfield1 has used both so his experience is worth noting!

The AI felt more modern than the AP700 app to me, but other than the individual color sliders it just looked cleaner. I'm loving both my AP700s and left my Hydra26hds behind. I like the simplicity of the settings. I ended up just choosing a color spectrum on my Hydras after trying for a year to tune it individually. I don't wanna tinker with my lights that much.

Just dropped my @AquaSD corals into the tank! Very well packaged, arrived on time and I am thrilled with this experience!!!

New filter sock replacement from Anything Acrylic in Australia came in today as well! I got something else new, just not ready to leak it yet!

Opinions on this birdsnest colony placement? It's up high in the tank? Move it down? I don't have many ledges to put this on, so it is either leave it there or sand bed!

What are your gyres set at? I have 2 xf and think the flow is way to much on low

Both are on random mode, A is set at 80% & B is set at 90%. I tried 100% but my gyre controller shut off. Entered a ticket with coralvue and they told me to upgrade the firmware and report back.
