I ran the Neptune AFS on my light bar awhile back then moved it to my return section. Moved the eheim to the light bar to test out.

Got this response from roger

“That is the older version, we used that style magnet holder from 2011-2015. The magnets are ferrite, which is an inert ceramic, what most impellers are made of, they are not coated as they are weaker and loose too much strength from coating. The main draw back to this design is iron debris clings in the crevices, everything from GFO to loose debris in the tank and around the house sticks to it and causes staining that is avoided by the coated/sealed surface on the newer magnets, the new magnets also pick up this stuff but it just wipes off the smooth surface. We used these at a time when the supply of neodymium was constrained”

Also I did install the unit this weekend and I’m thinking there is something wrong with the pump. It barely made a wave in my small tank.

I'm A. curious why you're making the switch and B. will be curious how you like it. I've thought about it as well just not really to pull the trigger on growing chaeto yet. Good luck!

The screws on the bottom of my amazon light rusted, I did swap them out and raise it. With this new light being waterproof I don't have to worry about that. But mainly I just want to try something new out and see what happens!

Will be curious how you like it! I'm a big fan of Tunze overall.
